Amos 7:12-15

Amaziah also said to Amos, "You seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there, but don't prophesy again any more at Bethel; for it is the king's sanctuary, and it is a royal house!" Then Amos answered Amaziah, "I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son, but I was a herdsman, and a farmer of sycamore figs; and the LORD took me from following the flock, and the LORD said to me, 'Go, prophesy to my people Israel.'

Salmo responsorial

Psalm 85:9-10, 11-12, 13-14

Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land. Mercy and truth meet together. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth springs out of the earth. Righteousness has looked down from heaven. Yes, the LORD will give that which is good. Our land will yield its increase. Righteousness goes before him, and prepares the way for his steps.

Segunda lectura

Ephesians 1:3-14 or 1:3-10

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love, having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire, to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he freely gave us favor in the Beloved. In him we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him to an administration of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth, in him. We were also assigned an inheritance in him, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who does all things after the counsel of his will, to the end that we should be to the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ. In him you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation-in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of his glory.

Evangelio

Mark 6:7-13

Llamó a los doce, y comenzó a enviarlos de dos en dos; y les dio autoridad sobre los espíritus inmundos. Les ordenó que no llevaran nada para el camino, sino sólo un bastón: ni pan, ni alforja, ni dinero en la bolsa, sino que llevaran sandalias y no se pusieran dos túnicas. Les dijo: «Dondequiera que entréis en una casa, quedaos allí hasta que salgáis de ese lugar. Y si en algún lugar no os reciben ni os escuchan, al salir de allí, sacudid el polvo de debajo de vuestros pies como testimonio contra ellos. Os aseguro que el día del juicio será más tolerable para Sodoma y Gomorra que para esa ciudad». Salieron y predicaron que la gente debía arrepentirse. Expulsaron a muchos demonios y ungieron con aceite a muchos enfermos y los sanaron.
