Wisdom 7:22b-8:1

for wisdom, that is the architect of all things, taught me. For there is in her a spirit that is quick to understand, holy, unique, manifold, subtle, freely moving, clear in utterance, unpolluted, distinct, invulnerable, loving what is good, keen, unhindered, beneficent, loving toward man, steadfast, sure, free from care, all-powerful, all-surveying, and penetrating through all spirits that are quick to understand, pure, most subtle. For wisdom is more mobile than any motion. Yes, she pervades and penetrates all things by reason of her purity. For she is a breath of the power of God, and a pure emanation of the glory of the Almighty. Therefore nothing defiled can find entrance into her. For she is a reflection of everlasting light, an unspotted mirror of the working of God, and an image of his goodness. Although she is one, she has power to do all things. Remaining in herself, she renews all things. From generation to generation passing into holy souls, she makes friends of God and prophets. For God loves nothing as much as one who dwells with wisdom. For she is fairer than the sun, and above all the constellations of the stars. She is better than light. For daylight yields to night, but evil does not prevail against wisdom. But she reaches from one end to the other with full strength, and orders all things well.

LORD, your word is settled in heaven forever. Your faithfulness is to all generations. You have established the earth, and it remains. Your laws remain to this day, for all things serve you. The entrance of your words gives light. It gives understanding to the simple. Make your face shine on your servant. Teach me your statutes. Let my soul live, that I may praise you. Let your ordinances help me.

Luke 17:20-25

Da er aber gefragt ward von den Pharisäern: Wann kommt das Reich Gottes? antwortete er ihnen und sprach: Das Reich Gottes kommt nicht mit äußerlichen Gebärden; man wird auch nicht sagen: Siehe hier! oder: da ist es! Denn sehet, das Reich Gottes ist inwendig in euch. Er sprach aber zu den Jüngern: Es wird die Zeit kommen, daß ihr werdet begehren zu sehen einen Tag des Menschensohnes, und werdet ihn nicht sehen. Und sie werden zu euch sagen: Siehe hier! siehe da! Gehet nicht hin und folget auch nicht. Denn wie der Blitz oben vom Himmel blitzt und leuchtet über alles, was unter dem Himmel ist, also wird des Menschen Sohn an seinem Tage sein. Zuvor aber muß er viel leiden und verworfen werden von diesem Geschlecht.
