Romans 8:12-17
So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God. For you didn't receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God; and if children, then heirs-heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

Psalm 68:2 and 4, 6-7ab, 20-21
As smoke is driven away, so drive them away. As wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. Sing to God! Sing praises to his name! Extol him who rides on the clouds: to the LORD, his name! Rejoice before him! God sets the lonely in families. He brings out the prisoners with singing, but the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land. God, when you went out before your people, when you marched through the wilderness... Selah. God is to us a God of deliverance. To GOD, the Lord, belongs escape from death. But God will strike through the head of his enemies, the hairy scalp of such a one as still continues in his guiltiness.

Luke 13:10-17
Ele estava ensinando em uma das sinagogas no dia de sábado. Eis que estava ali uma mulher que tinha um espírito de enfermidade havia dezoito anos. Ela andava encurvada e de forma alguma conseguia se endireitar. Quando Jesus a viu, chamou-a e lhe disse: "Mulher, você está livre da sua enfermidade." Ele impôs as mãos sobre ela, e imediatamente ela se endireitou e glorificou a Deus. O chefe da sinagoga, indignado porque Jesus havia curado no sábado, disse à multidão: "Há seis dias em que os homens devem trabalhar. Portanto, venham nesses dias para serem curados, e não no dia de sábado!" Portanto, o Senhor lhe respondeu: "Hipócritas! Cada um de vocês não solta do estábulo o seu boi ou o seu jumento no sábado, e o leva para beber água? E não deveria esta mulher, sendo uma filha de Abraão, a quem Satanás manteve presa por dezoito longos anos, ser liberta desse cativeiro no dia de sábado?" Ao dizer ele estas coisas, todos os seus adversários ficaram envergonhados; e toda a multidão se alegrava por todas as coisas gloriosas que eram feitas por ele.
