Joshua 3:7-10a, 11, 13-17
The LORD said to Joshua, "Today I will begin to magnify you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. You shall command the priests who bear the ark of the covenant, saying, 'When you come to the brink of the waters of the Jordan, you shall stand still in the Jordan.' " Joshua said to the children of Israel, "Come here, and hear the words of the LORD your God." Joshua said, "By this you shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Hivite, the Perizzite, the Girgashite, the Amorite, and the Jebusite out from before you. Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passes over before you into the Jordan. It shall be that when the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of GOD, the Lord of all the earth, rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan will be cut off. The waters that come down from above shall stand in one heap." When the people moved from their tents to pass over the Jordan, the priests who bore the ark of the covenant being before the people, and when those who bore the ark had come to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark had dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks all the time of harvest), the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off. Then the people passed over near Jericho. The priests who bore the ark of the LORD's covenant stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the nation had passed completely over the Jordan.

When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of foreign language, Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion. The sea saw it, and fled. The Jordan was driven back. The mountains skipped like rams, the little hills like lambs. What was it, you sea, that you fled? You Jordan, that you turned back? You mountains, that you skipped like rams? You little hills, like lambs?

Matthew 18:21-19:1
Então Pedro aproximou-se e lhe disse: "Senhor, quantas vezes o meu irmão pecará contra mim, e eu lhe perdoarei? Até sete vezes?" Jesus lhe disse: "Eu não lhe digo até sete vezes, mas até setenta vezes sete. Portanto, o Reino dos Céus é semelhante a um certo rei que desejava acertar as contas com os seus servos. Quando ele começou a acertar, foi-lhe trazido um que lhe devia dez mil talentos. Mas, como ele não tinha com que pagar, o seu senhor ordenou que ele fosse vendido, com sua esposa, seus filhos e tudo o que ele tinha, para que a dívida fosse paga. O servo, portanto, prostrou-se e ajoelhou-se diante dele, dizendo: 'Senhor, tenha paciência comigo, e eu lhe pagarei tudo!' O senhor daquele servo, movido de íntima compaixão, soltou-o e perdoou-lhe a dívida. "Mas aquele servo saiu e encontrou um dos seus conservos que lhe devia cem denários, e ele o agarrou e o tomou pela garganta, dizendo: 'Pague-me o que você deve!' "Então o seu conservo prostrou-se aos seus pés e lhe implorou, dizendo: 'Tenha paciência comigo, e eu lhe pagarei!' Ele, porém, não quis; antes, foi e o lançou na prisão, até que pagasse o que devia. Quando os seus conservos viram o que havia acontecido, ficaram extremamente tristes, e foram contar ao seu senhor tudo o que havia acontecido. Então o seu senhor o chamou e lhe disse: 'Servo mau! Eu lhe perdoei toda aquela dívida porque você me implorou. Você não devia também ter tido misericórdia do seu conservo, assim como eu tive misericórdia de você?' O seu senhor ficou irado e o entregou aos torturadores, até que pagasse tudo o que lhe devia. Assim também meu Pai celestial fará a vocês, se cada um de vocês não perdoar de coração ao seu irmão pelas suas ofensas." Quando Jesus terminou de dizer essas palavras, ele partiu da Galileia e foi para as fronteiras da Judeia, além do Jordão.
