Genesis 1:20-2:4a
God said, "Let the waters abound with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the sky." God created the large sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind. God saw that it was good. God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth." There was evening and there was morning, a fifth day. God said, "Let the earth produce living creatures after their kind, livestock, creeping things, and animals of the earth after their kind;" and it was so. God made the animals of the earth after their kind, and the livestock after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind. God saw that it was good. God said, "Let's make man in our image, after our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." God created man in his own image. In God's image he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them. God said to them, "Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree, which bears fruit yielding seed. It will be your food. To every animal of the earth, and to every bird of the sky, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food;" and it was so. God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. There was evening and there was morning, a sixth day. The heavens, the earth, and all their vast array were finished. On the seventh day God finished his work which he had done; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done. God blessed the seventh day, and made it holy, because he rested in it from all his work of creation which he had done. This is the history of the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens.

what is man, that you think of him? What is the son of man, that you care for him? For you have made him a little lower than the angels, and crowned him with glory and honor. You make him ruler over the works of your hands. You have put all things under his feet: All sheep and cattle, yes, and the animals of the field, the birds of the sky, the fish of the sea, and whatever passes through the paths of the seas. LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Mark 7:1-13
Então os fariseus e alguns dos escribas se reuniram a ele, tendo vindo de Jerusalém. E, quando viram alguns dos seus discípulos comendo pão com as mãos impuras, isto é, por lavar, eles os criticaram. (Pois os fariseus e todos os judeus não comem sem lavar as mãos e os antebraços, apegando-se à tradição dos anciãos. Eles não comem quando vêm do mercado, a menos que se lavem, e há muitas outras coisas que receberam para guardar: lavagens de copos, jarros, vasilhas de bronze e camas.) Os fariseus e os escribas lhe perguntaram: "Por que os seus discípulos não andam segundo a tradição dos anciãos, mas comem o pão com as mãos por lavar?" Ele lhes respondeu: "Bem profetizou Isaías a respeito de vocês, hipócritas, como está escrito: 'Este povo me honra com os lábios, mas o seu coração está longe de mim. Em vão me adoram, ensinando como doutrinas os mandamentos de homens.' "Pois vocês deixam de lado o mandamento de Deus e se apegam firmemente à tradição dos homens - a lavagem de jarros e copos, e fazem muitas outras coisas semelhantes." Ele lhes disse: "Vocês rejeitam muito bem o mandamento de Deus, para poderem guardar a sua tradição. Pois Moisés disse: 'Honra a teu pai e a tua mãe'; e: 'Quem falar mal do pai ou da mãe, seja morto.' Mas vocês dizem: 'Se um homem disser a seu pai ou a sua mãe: "Qualquer proveito que você pudesse ter recebido de mim é Corbã",'" isto é, dado a Deus, "então vocês não lhe permitem mais fazer nada por seu pai ou por sua mãe, invalidando a palavra de Deus pela tradição que vocês transmitiram. E vocês fazem muitas coisas como esta."
