Romans 8:12-17

So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God. For you didn't receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God; and if children, then heirs-heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

Psalm 68:2 and 4, 6-7ab, 20-21

As smoke is driven away, so drive them away. As wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. Sing to God! Sing praises to his name! Extol him who rides on the clouds: to the LORD, his name! Rejoice before him! God sets the lonely in families. He brings out the prisoners with singing, but the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land. God, when you went out before your people, when you marched through the wilderness... Selah. God is to us a God of deliverance. To GOD, the Lord, belongs escape from death. But God will strike through the head of his enemies, the hairy scalp of such a one as still continues in his guiltiness.

Luke 13:10-17

OR egli insegnava in una delle sinagoghe, in giorno di sabato. Ed ecco, quivi era una donna che avea uno spirito d'infermità già per ispazio di diciotto anni, ed era tutta piegata, e non poteva in alcun modo ridirizzarsi. E Gesù, vedutala, la chiamò a sè, e le disse: Donna, tu sei liberata dalla tua infermità. E pose le mani sopra lei, ed ella in quello stante fu ridirizzata, e glorificava Iddio. Ma il capo della sinagoga, sdegnato che Gesù avesse fatta guarigione in giorno di sabato, prese a dire alla moltitudine: Vi son sei giorni, ne' quali convien lavorare; venite adunque in que' giorni, e siate guariti; e non nel giorno del sabato. Laonde il Signore gli rispose, e disse: Ipocriti! ciascun di voi non iscioglie egli dalla mangiatoia, in giorno di sabato, il suo bue, o il suo asino, e li mena a bere? E non conveniva egli scioglier da questo legame, in giorno di sabato, costei, ch'è figliuola d'Abrahamo, la qual Satana avea tenuta legata lo spazio di diciotto anni? E mentre egli diceva queste cose, tutti i suoi avversari erano confusi; ma tutta la moltitudine si rallegrava di tutte le opere gloriose che si facevano da lui.
