Le letture incontrano il luogo ordinario in cui la fede si esercita. Rimani con ciò che Gesù dice o fa qui, e lascia che chieda una risposta onesta.
Letture di oggi
Prima lettura
Deuteronomy 4:32-34, 39-40
For ask now of the days that are past, which were before you, since the day that God created man on the earth, and from the one end of the sky to the other, whether there has been anything as great as this thing is, or has been heard like it? Did a people ever hear the voice of God speaking out of the middle of the fire, as you have heard, and live? Or has God tried to go and take a nation for himself from among another nation, by trials, by signs, by wonders, by war, by a mighty hand, by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes? Know therefore today, and take it to heart, that the LORD himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath. There is no one else. You shall keep his statutes and his commandments which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which the LORD your God gives you for all time.
Salmo responsoriale
Psalm 33:4-5, 6, 9, 18-19, 20, 22
For the LORD's word is right. All his work is done in faithfulness. He loves righteousness and justice. The earth is full of the loving kindness of the LORD. By the LORD's word, the heavens were made: all their army by the breath of his mouth. For he spoke, and it was done. He commanded, and it stood firm. Behold, the LORD's eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness, to deliver their soul from death, to keep them alive in famine. Our soul has waited for the LORD. He is our help and our shield. Let your loving kindness be on us, LORD, since we have hoped in you.
Seconda lettura
Romans 8:14-17
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God. For you didn't receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God; and if children, then heirs-heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.
Vangelo
Matthew 28:16-20
Amen.
