Romans 8:12-17

So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God. For you didn't receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God; and if children, then heirs-heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

Psalm 68:2 and 4, 6-7ab, 20-21

As smoke is driven away, so drive them away. As wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. Sing to God! Sing praises to his name! Extol him who rides on the clouds: to the LORD, his name! Rejoice before him! God sets the lonely in families. He brings out the prisoners with singing, but the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land. God, when you went out before your people, when you marched through the wilderness... Selah. God is to us a God of deliverance. To GOD, the Lord, belongs escape from death. But God will strike through the head of his enemies, the hairy scalp of such a one as still continues in his guiltiness.

Luke 13:10-17

Estaba enseñando en una de las sinagogas en el día de reposo. He aquí que había una mujer que tenía un espíritu de enfermedad desde hacía dieciocho años. Estaba encorvada y en ninguna manera podía enderezarse. Al verla, Jesús la llamó y le dijo: «Mujer, quedas libre de tu enfermedad». Le impuso las manos, y al instante ella se enderezó y glorificaba a Dios. El jefe de la sinagoga, indignado porque Jesús había curado en sábado, dijo a la multitud: «Hay seis días en los que se debe trabajar. Venid, pues, en esos días y sed curados, y no en el día de reposo». Por eso el Señor le respondió: «¡Hipócritas! ¿No desata cada uno de vosotros a su buey o a su asno del pesebre en sábado, y lo lleva a beber? Y a esta mujer, que es hija de Abraham y que Satanás ha tenido atada durante dieciocho largos años, ¿no se la debía desatar de esta ligadura en el día de reposo?» Al decir estas cosas, todos sus adversarios quedaron avergonzados, y toda la multitud se alegraba por todas las cosas gloriosas que él hacía.
