Primera lectura

Baruch 1:15-22

You shall say: To the Lord our God belongs righteousness, but to us confusion of face, as at this day-to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to our kings, to our princes, to our priests, to our prophets, and to our fathers, because we have sinned before the Lord. We have disobeyed him and have not listened to the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in the commandments of the Lord that he has set before us. Since the day that the Lord brought our fathers out of the land of Egypt to this present day, we have been disobedient to the Lord our God, and we have been negligent in not listening to his voice. Therefore the plagues have clung to us, along with the curse which the Lord declared through Moses his servant in the day that he brought our fathers out of the land of Egypt to give us a land that flows with milk and honey, as at this day. Nevertheless we didn't listen to the voice of the Lord our God, according to all the words of the prophets whom he sent to us, but we each walked in the imagination of his own wicked heart, to serve strange gods and to do what is evil in the sight of the Lord our God.

Psalm 79:1b-2, 3-5, 8, 9

Salmo de Asaf. Oh Dios, las naciones han invadido tu heredad. Han profanado tu santo templo. Han reducido a Jerusalén a montones de ruinas. Han entregado los cadáveres de tus siervos para que sean alimento de las aves del cielo, la carne de tus santos a las fieras de la tierra. Han derramado su sangre como agua alrededor de Jerusalén, y no hubo quien los enterrara. Nos hemos convertido en afrenta para nuestros vecinos, en escarnio y burla de los que nos rodean. ¿Hasta cuándo, oh Yahvé? ¿Estarás airado para siempre? ¿Arderá tu celo como el fuego? No recuerdes contra nosotros las iniquidades de nuestros antepasados. Que tus tiernas misericordias nos alcancen pronto, porque estamos muy abatidos. Ayúdanos, oh Dios de nuestra salvación, por la gloria de tu nombre. Líbranos y perdona nuestros pecados, por amor de tu nombre.

Luke 10:13-16

"Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you. You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades. Whoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever rejects you rejects me. Whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me."
