Joshua 3:7-10a, 11, 13-17

The LORD said to Joshua, "Today I will begin to magnify you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. You shall command the priests who bear the ark of the covenant, saying, 'When you come to the brink of the waters of the Jordan, you shall stand still in the Jordan.' " Joshua said to the children of Israel, "Come here, and hear the words of the LORD your God." Joshua said, "By this you shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Hivite, the Perizzite, the Girgashite, the Amorite, and the Jebusite out from before you. Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passes over before you into the Jordan. It shall be that when the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of GOD, the Lord of all the earth, rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan will be cut off. The waters that come down from above shall stand in one heap." When the people moved from their tents to pass over the Jordan, the priests who bore the ark of the covenant being before the people, and when those who bore the ark had come to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark had dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks all the time of harvest), the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off. Then the people passed over near Jericho. The priests who bore the ark of the LORD's covenant stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the nation had passed completely over the Jordan.

When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of foreign language, Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion. The sea saw it, and fled. The Jordan was driven back. The mountains skipped like rams, the little hills like lambs. What was it, you sea, that you fled? You Jordan, that you turned back? You mountains, that you skipped like rams? You little hills, like lambs?

Matthew 18:21-19:1

Entonces Pedro se acercó y le dijo: «Señor, ¿cuántas veces va a pecar mi hermano contra mí, y le perdono? ¿Hasta siete veces?» Jesús le dijo: "No te digo hasta siete veces, sino hasta setenta veces siete. Por eso, el Reino de los Cielos se parece a cierto rey que quería ajustar cuentas con sus siervos. Cuando empezó a ajustar cuentas, le presentaron a uno que le debía diez mil talentos. Pero como no podía pagar, su señor mandó venderlo, con su mujer, sus hijos y todo lo que tenía, y que se le pagara. El siervo, pues, se postró y se arrodilló ante él, diciendo: «Señor, ten paciencia conmigo y te lo pagaré todo». El señor de aquel siervo, compadecido, lo liberó y le perdonó la deuda. "Pero aquel siervo salió y encontró a uno de sus consiervos que le debía cien denarios, lo agarró y lo tomó por el cuello, diciendo: «¡Págame lo que me debes!». "Entonces su consiervo se postró a sus pies y le rogó, diciendo: «Ten paciencia conmigo, y te lo pagaré». Pero él no quiso, sino que fue y lo echó en la cárcel hasta que le devolviera lo que le debía. Cuando sus consiervos vieron lo que se había hecho, se entristecieron mucho, y vinieron a contarle a su señor todo lo que se había hecho. Entonces su señor lo llamó y le dijo: "¡Siervo malvado! Te perdoné toda esa deuda porque me lo rogaste. ¿No debías tú también tener misericordia de tu consiervo, como yo tuve misericordia de ti?' Su señor se enfureció y lo entregó a los verdugos hasta que pagara todo lo que se le debía. Así hará también mi Padre celestial con vosotros, si no perdonáis cada uno a vuestro hermano de corazón por sus fechorías." Cuando Jesús terminó estas palabras, salió de Galilea y llegó a los límites de Judea, al otro lado del Jordán.
