Primera lectura

Ezekiel 2:2-5

The Spirit entered into me when he spoke to me, and set me on my feet; and I heard him who spoke to me. He said to me, "Son of man, I send you to the children of Israel, to a nation of rebels who have rebelled against me. They and their fathers have transgressed against me even to this very day. The children are impudent and stiff-hearted. I am sending you to them, and you shall tell them, 'This is what the Lord GOD says.' They, whether they will hear, or whether they will refuse-for they are a rebellious house-yet they will know that there has been a prophet among them.

Psalm 123:1-2, 2, 3-4

I lift up my eyes to you, you who sit in the heavens. Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD, our God, until he has mercy on us. Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy on us, for we have endured much contempt. Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scoffing of those who are at ease, with the contempt of the proud.

Segunda lectura

2 Corinthians 12:7-10

By reason of the exceeding greatness of the revelations, that I should not be exalted excessively, a thorn in the flesh was given to me: a messenger of Satan to torment me, that I should not be exalted excessively. Concerning this thing, I begged the Lord three times that it might depart from me. He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, and in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.

Mark 6:1-6

Salió de allí. Vino a su tierra, y sus discípulos le siguieron. Cuando llegó el sábado, se puso a enseñar en la sinagoga, y muchos que le oían se asombraban, diciendo: «¿De dónde ha sacado éste estas cosas?» y «¿Qué sabiduría se le ha dado a éste, para que por sus manos se realicen obras tan grandes? ¿No es éste el carpintero, hijo de María y hermano de Santiago, José, Judas y Simón? ¿No están sus hermanas aquí con nosotros?» Así que se ofendieron con él. Jesús les dijo: «Un profeta no carece de honra, sino en su propia tierra, entre sus parientes y en su propia casa.» No pudo hacer allí ninguna obra poderosa, salvo que impuso las manos sobre algunos enfermos y los sanó. Se asombraba de la incredulidad de ellos. Recorría las aldeas enseñando.
