Las lecturas llegan al lugar ordinario donde se practica la fe. Quédate con lo que Jesús dice o hace aquí, y deja que pida una respuesta honesta.

Primera lectura
Sirach 35:1-12
He who keeps the law multiplies offerings. He who heeds the commandments sacrifices a peace offering. He who returns a kindness offers fine flour. He who gives alms sacrifices a thank offering. To depart from wickedness pleases the Lord. To depart from unrighteousness is an atoning sacrifice. See that you don't appear in the presence of the Lord empty. For all these things are done because of the commandment. The offering of the righteous enriches the altar. The sweet fragrance of it is before the Most High. The sacrifice of a righteous man is acceptable. It won't be forgotten. Glorify the Lord with generosity. Don't reduce the first fruits of your hands. In every gift show a cheerful countenance, And dedicate your tithe with gladness. Give to the Most High according as he has given. As your hand has found, give generously. For the Lord repays, and he will repay you sevenfold. Don't plan to bribe him with gifts, for he will not receive them. Don't set your mind on an unrighteous sacrifice, For the Lord is the judge, and with him is no respect of persons.

"Gather my saints together to me, those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice." The heavens shall declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge. Selah. "Hear, my people, and I will speak. Israel, I will testify against you. I am God, your God. I don't rebuke you for your sacrifices. Your burnt offerings are continually before me. Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Pay your vows to the Most High. Whoever offers the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies me, and prepares his way so that I will show God's salvation to him."

Pedro comenzó a decirle: «Mira, lo hemos dejado todo y te hemos seguido». Jesús dijo: «Os aseguro que no hay nadie que haya dejado casa, ni hermanos, ni hermanas, ni padre, ni madre, ni mujer, ni hijos, ni tierra, por mí y por la Buena Noticia, sino que recibirá cien veces más ahora en este tiempo: casas, hermanos, hermanas, madres, hijos y tierra, con persecuciones; y en el siglo venidero la vida eterna. Pero muchos de los primeros serán los últimos, y los últimos los primeros».
