Exodus 20:1-17

God spoke all these words, saying, "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. "You shall have no other gods before me. "You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me, and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments. "You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who misuses his name. "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. You shall labor six days, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. You shall not do any work in it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates; for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and made it holy. Die Befehle des HERRN sind richtig und erfreuen das Herz; die Gebote des HERRN sind lauter und erleuchten die Augen. Die Furcht des HERRN ist rein und bleibt ewiglich; die Rechte des HERRN sind wahrhaftig, allesamt gerecht. Sie sind köstlicher denn Gold und viel feines Gold; sie sind süßer denn Honig und Honigseim. Auch wird dein Knecht durch sie erinnert; und wer sie hält, der hat großen Lohn.

Matthew 13:18-23

So hört nun ihr dieses Gleichnis von dem Säemann: Wenn jemand das Wort von dem Reich hört und nicht versteht, so kommt der Arge und reißt hinweg, was da gesät ist in sein Herz; und das ist der, bei welchem an dem Wege gesät ist. Das aber auf das Steinige gesät ist, das ist, wenn jemand das Wort hört und es alsbald aufnimmt mit Freuden; aber er hat nicht Wurzel in sich, sondern ist wetterwendisch; wenn sich Trübsal und Verfolgung erhebt um des Wortes willen, so ärgert er sich alsbald. Das aber unter die Dornen gesät ist, das ist, wenn jemand das Wort hört, und die Sorge dieser Welt und der Betrug des Reichtums erstickt das Wort, und er bringt nicht Frucht. Das aber in das gute Land gesät ist, das ist, wenn jemand das Wort hört und versteht es und dann auch Frucht bringt; und etlicher trägt hundertfältig, etlicher aber sechzigfältig, etlicher dreißigfältig.
