Genesis 46:1-7, 28-30
Israel traveled with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices to the God of his father, Isaac. God spoke to Israel in the visions of the night, and said, "Jacob, Jacob!" He said, "Here I am." He said, "I am God, the God of your father. Don't be afraid to go down into Egypt, for there I will make of you a great nation. I will go down with you into Egypt. I will also surely bring you up again. Joseph's hand will close your eyes." Jacob rose up from Beersheba, and the sons of Israel carried Jacob, their father, their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him. They took their livestock, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt-Jacob, and all his offspring with him, his sons, and his sons' sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters, and he brought all his offspring with him into Egypt. Jacob sent Judah before him to Joseph, to show the way before him to Goshen, and they came into the land of Goshen. Joseph prepared his chariot, and went up to meet Israel, his father, in Goshen. He presented himself to him, and fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while. Israel said to Joseph, "Now let me die, since I have seen your face, that you are still alive."

Psalm 37:3-4, 18-19, 27-28, 39-40
Trust in the LORD, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture. Also delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. The LORD knows the days of the perfect. Their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be disappointed in the time of evil. In the days of famine they shall be satisfied. Depart from evil, and do good. Live securely forever. For the LORD loves justice, and doesn't forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble. The LORD helps them and rescues them. He rescues them from the wicked and saves them, because they have taken refuge in him.

Matthew 10:16-23
Siehe, ich sende euch wie Schafe mitten unter die Wölfe; darum seid klug wie die Schlangen und ohne Falsch wie die Tauben. Hütet euch vor den Menschen; denn sie werden euch überantworten vor ihre Rathäuser und werden euch geißeln in ihren Schulen. Und man wird euch vor Fürsten und Könige führen um meinetwillen, zum Zeugnis über sie und über die Heiden. Wenn sie euch nun überantworten werden, so sorget nicht, wie oder was ihr reden sollt; denn es soll euch zu der Stunde gegeben werden, was ihr reden sollt. Denn ihr seid es nicht, die da reden, sondern eures Vaters Geist ist es, der durch euch redet. Es wird aber ein Bruder den andern zum Tod überantworten und der Vater den Sohn, und die Kinder werden sich empören wider die Eltern und ihnen zum Tode helfen. Und ihr müsset gehaßt werden von jedermann um meines Namens willen. Wer aber bis an das Ende beharrt, der wird selig. Wenn sie euch aber in einer Stadt verfolgen, so flieht in eine andere. Wahrlich ich sage euch: Ihr werdet mit den Städten Israels nicht zu Ende kommen, bis des Menschen Sohn kommt.
